Kurt Shaw is the President of Kurt Shaw & Company, Inc. Kurt Shaw is a certified appraiser with the International Fine Art Appraisers Association (IFAA). Kurt is also a member of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and the Amerian Bar Association (ABA), as well as the Estate Planning Council of Pittsburgh. Kurt has over 20-years of experience as an appraiser.

Notably, Kurt served as the art critic for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review for 16 years and owned and operated Shaw Galleries, an art and antiques gallery on Liberty Avenue in Downtown Pittsburgh for 10 years. Kurt is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University’s College of Fine Arts (B.F.A. with honors, 1989). Kurt studied under the late Sam Gilliam, a renowned American color field painter.
